My two boxes from Avery arrived today, just in time for the weekend! On backorder are the red Wiss snips, and the dimpling frame. That might be OK, though since I'm seriously considering getting the DRDT-2. It gives me a week or 2 to make the decision. And I know I ordered the 3X rivet gun, but the 2X is what was in the box... I'm thinking about just staying with the 2X though since it is probably better for this never-riveted-before person. Mostly dimpling and riveting stuff on this first shelf.
Hand squeezer (going on shelf shortly) and other tools I'm going to (maybe) use tonight, Cleco pliers and deburring stuff.
Drill bits, countersinks, clecos, and the c-clamps seen before. I definitely need to get a toolbox. This stuff on shelves isn't gonna cut it. But it kills me to have to spend ANOTHER couple hundred just to hold the stuff I've already spent so much on! Then again, I'm not gonna buy some cheap piece of crap, since I'd like to not have to get another one for a while.
Souix air drill, and the 2X rivet gun still in its little white box.
My final product for the evening on the front of the bench. It was after midnight and I was ready for bed! Basically this evening I made much use of the scotchbrite wheels. I took off all that nasty corrosion on the spar stiffeners and 'smoothed all sufaces to a finish equivalent to that left by 400 grit sandpaper' :) That took a little while to get done. And there were a couple little pits and scratches in the stiffeners that came out nicely with the SB wheel.
Here is the middle of the rear spar, everything clecoed together and ready to be drilled out. Notice the nice shiney stiffeners. Much better than they were yesterday!
And the left side. There is still a tiny bit of finishing work to be done on the stiffeners, but that'll be accomplished when I get ready to prime it. No need to do it now just to risk it corroding again before the priming material (alumiprep, alodine, mil-spec epoxy primer) arrives.
