I did the left half of the horizontal stabilizer today. Pretty much the same stuff as yesterday, but I had to prepare the inboard rib, as that was one of the parts that was messed up and replaced.. It all went quite well today and there were no mistakes this time. Here is a pic of it getting ready to be attacked with the drill...
Just like the other side, it came apart pretty quickly, then it was a whole bunch of hole deburring and dimpling. I had forgot to dimple the right HS skeleton parts yesterday, so those were done as well. The DRDT-2 works quite well at dimpling most of the holes in all these parts. I started using the hand squeezer, but I figured that it'd be much faster with the big c-frame. The only problems I has with it were that it could reach the holes near the ends of the ribs, and some of the spars got too narrow at one end to fit it well, so I still had to do a few with the squeezer, but it the c-frame probably cut my dimping time in half for all those parts. Here are all the parts on the ready-to-prime table. You can also see the nearly finished rudder on the left, the finished VS under the plans at the bottom, and the waiting-to-be-bent elevator skins under the table...
