Today was some more work towards finishing the empennage tips. Here you can see where I took the file to the elevator counterweights and rounded off the edges in preparation for glassing them over.
I also started cutting the backing strips for the elevator tips. The thin aluminum scrap sheets that came with the kit were not long enough to back all of the holes, so I used some of the bad HS skin. It was thicker, but it was plenty long. I hate having to use thicker (and heavier) stuff, but I wanted all the holes backed.
