Yesterday (no pics or log entry) I mixed up some epoxy with cotton flox and packed it in the front of the elevator tip over the counterweight (after sanding the lead to roughen it up a bit). Today I sanded it down to something close to flat. I then proceded to sand all along the seam between the tip and elevator skin. I got it nice and even and then mixed up some epoxy and glass microbaloons. I spread it on the top of both tips and then flipped the whole HS over and but it on the bottom as well.
Here's the other side with the same thing done to it. You can see how this will hide those ugly blind rivets and make it all nice and smooth.
And this is the front part. There is a thin layer of epoxy/flox underneath this, as it supposedly provides a little structural strength, whereas the microbaloons do not, they are only for filler. I probably mixed this up a little to thin, as you can see the dripping action in this picture...
