Well, after my long week on business in Guadlajara, I went to ABF and picked up my wing kit (to save a $70 resisdential delivery fee. It was interesing getting it in the truck, but I knew it would fit as I had discussed the logistics with David Nelson a couple weeks ago. He fit it through the rear window of his Dodge Dakota, and we measured my window and it looked alright. As you can see, it fit, but I had to tilt the spar box on its side... The other box fit without any issues, and you can see it on the bottomin the pic.
I started pulling all of the parts out of the boxes and noticed this weird sheet of aluminum. I just uses a different protective plastic on it, but being non-translucent and white it really stands out. There's another sheet with clear plastic and black writing on it that you can see in the next pic...
Here's the whole thing all spread out and inventoried. The only thing missing in this pic is the big pile of ribs, as they are already up on their whelf.
Here's the spars. I thought this pic was pretty cool as you can see the spar box is as long as the whole garage. Which makes me wonder how the fuselage is gonna fit in here (the box is as long as the fuselage longerons that were shipped in it). I think there will be VERY little room around the ends, so it'll be interesting. Scott Card is going to give me his jig, as he just finished up with his wings this weekend. Couldn't have been better timing! All the builders I've met around here have been great. Always willing to help out and give you a bunch of stuff to make life easier. So far during this process I HAVEN'T had to build a trailing edge bender or a wing jig, and that's definitely a few hours saved...
